Preeclampsia: Cardiotonic Steroids, Fibrosis, Fli1 and Hint to Carcinogenesis

Despite prophylaxis and attempts to select a therapy, the frequency of preeclampsia does not decrease it still takes leading position in structure maternal mortality morbidity worldwide. In this review, we present new theory etiology pathogenesis that is based on interaction Na/K-ATPase its endogenous ligands including marinobufagenin. The signaling pathway marinobufagenin involves an inhibition transcriptional factor Fli1, negative regulator collagen synthesis, followed by deposition vascular tissues altered functions. Moreover, vitro vivo neutralization associated with restoration Fli1. inverse relationship between Fli1 opens possibilities treatment cancer; as proto-oncogene, hypothesis suppression cardiotonic steroids potential anti-tumor therapeutic strategy discussed well. We propose novel therapy immunoneutralization monoclonal antibodies, which capable impairing marinobufagenin-Na/K-ATPase interactions.
